FAQS
Can I bring a plus one?
Please only come with the person/people listed on your invitation/RSVP.
Can I bring my kids?
We respectfully request no children below the age of 15 at our wedding celebrations. We hope you understand and can still join us on our special day.
What should I wear?
As a hybrid Indian and American wedding, we are embracing both of our cultures and traditions in all aspects. This includes attire! Please dress in a way that feels comfortable and authentic to you, whether that's American clothes, Indian garb, or anything else. Bright colors are encouraged!
If you want to wear Indian outfits, please know that you are MOST welcome to, in fact it is encouraged! Please see the information as well as the link below for a more detailed guide.
Dress Code:
For the wedding ceremony, traditional or formal attire is encouraged. For Indian wear this may be a Saree, Salwar and/or Lehenga for ladies, and Kurta sets for men.
For the reception, a more formal look, such as evening gowns, Lehenga's, or suits are perfect.
Where do I shop?
If you need some pointers on where to shop, here are some sites for both men and women. Double-check their return policies; sometimes quality can be hit-or-miss with these sites.

How many outfits should I wear?
While some guests may choose to change outfits between the ceremony and reception, please note that this is by no means required. Women may choose to wear a Saree during the ceremony and change into another Indian style at night, while men may switch from Indian garb to a suit for the reception. Please wear whatever you are most comfortable with to our wedding - whether that's one outfit the whole day, or changing in the afternoon! Indian attire is encouraged for all events :)
Is there any color I should avoid wearing?
We kindly ask that guests avoid wearing white or red, as these colors are reserved for the bride. We’d love for you to wear something that makes you feel fabulous and fits with the celebration’s joyful atmosphere!
Will lunch be served?
No formal lunch will be served, but welcome snacks and drinks will be available before the ceremony. We encourage guests to get to the Manor Lawn by 2pm to enjoy these refreshments!
What kind of food will be served at the wedding?
There will be a delicious spread with a mix of traditional Indian and international dishes to suit all tastes! Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options will be provided.
Where should I stay?
All wedding events will be taking place at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort & Spa and we highly recommend staying on site! Guests are welcome to come Friday evening and spend time at their leisure Saturday morning before the festivities begin. Alternatively, we have a hotel block at an additional hotel closeby. The hotel blocks are from Friday-Sunday. Please see the Hotel & Travel tab for booking links.
What should I do if the hotel block is sold out?
Please contact Roshni, Sam, Tapash or Subhra! We will see if additional rooms can be added to the block.
I'm not staying on site. What do I do during the break?
If you aren't staying on site, you will have approximately 2 hours in between the Exit Baraat and Cocktail Hour, so feel free to travel back to your accommodation to change/freshen up. You can also hang around the Hyatt and enjoy the beautiful views as well as a drink/coffee at a wide selection of bars and restaurants (including Rise Up!).
